Join us in a celebration of the work of Florence Farr, with a Ritual Reading of her one-act play The Shrine of the Golden Hawk. With esotericists, academics, actors and fellow travellers. Join us at The Theosophical Society, Saturday July 8th 2023 from 12.00 noon - 6.30pm It is 30 years since Florence Farr's two Egyptian-themed plays were performed in London at the Rudolf Steiner Theatre, produced by Caroline Wise; and 6 years since the plays were produced by Isabella Van Der Roux at the Theosophical Society, London. Several of those who were part of both events are coming together, with new additions to our team. Caroline Wise: Florence Farr's plays and her Perceptions of Ancient Egypt, Magical and Historical, and also The Sphere Group. Lucy Hillier: Florence Farr, Life and Magic. Sue Terry: Florence Farr, Suffragist and Seer: Women’s Empowerment, Feminist Occultism and Dancing Fauns Allan Johnson: Florence Farr’s Journalism for Orage's New Age Journal. A book about the Egyptian-themed plays, The Beloved of Hathor and The Shrine of the Golden Hawk, including the scripts and commentaries, will be launched at this event.
